Nobody can tell you how stressful things really get just before THE special day. Especially with 60 guests flying in from overseas and a volcano eruption we were both close to insanity. Throughout the entire process you kept on ensuring us that it would all come together on the day itself and although we had a tough time believing this you could not have been more right!

You definitely turned our wedding day into the most special day of our lives and every time we think back we are filled with emotion and happiness. Thanks to the excellent care we managed to fully enjoy our wedding day, with everything done the way we had imagined it. Moreover, not only us but also our guests had a day they will never forget… it was truly amazing.

We cannot thank you enough for the excellent organisation but perhaps more importantly the personal attention. You made sure throughout the day that not only us but also our guests were happy and content.

After a beautiful, sunny two weeks in South Africa we are back in London and back to reality. Everything about our wedding went perfectly. The outdoor ceremony at Rhebokskloof was like a fairy tale, with the lake, mountains, and rows of grapes surrounding us. John, the photographer you booked, took some amazing shots of us. The reception venue had been arranged just like we wanted, and the flowers and fairy lights just gave a magical feeling to the whole evening. All night family members kept coming up to our table to say how great the food was and how much fun they were having. It was hard to get people off the dancefloor at midnight, so overall I would say it was a success!

It wouldn't have been possible to arrange such a wedding from so far away without your help, so thanks to you and Penny for making it so special.

Tjasa and Franz Rentel – 13th March 2010 - Strandkombuis West Coast

Dear Sally,
 
I am taking a rainy morning in Zanzibar to thank everyone involved in the wedding before we rush back into the chaos of our working lives.
 
The main thing I would like to say is that the wedding turned out like a dream - it was everything I could ever possibly wish for an more (ok, maybe with a bit less wind, but even that didn't really bother me...). And the most important thing was: it was sooo what Franz & I are all about. :-)
 
So thank you so much for all your help in making this happen, I know sometimes I got a bit impatient (I hope not rude..), I guess it was just pre-wedding anxiety. But everything was just perfect, Cindy did an amazing job with the decor, Rene's guys were worth every penny and every moment of hassle :-), the food was great, the atmosphere was amazing...and most importantly, everyone loved it, we received nothing but compliments from all our guests.
   
At the same time, it was super having you there on the day - both Franz and I had nothing to thing about other then enjoying our day and we could do it because you really took care of everything! And you were always one step ahead of me in preparing the next thing! :-)
 
So as I said, in the end, everything came together perfectly and our wedding was without a doubt the happiest day of our lives. We will be happy to recommend you to any of our friends getting married in and around Cape Town in the future.

Dear Sally,

Hope you are well, and things are not too crazy with the approaching World Cup. We wanted to thank you and your team for the wonderful wedding experience - it was perfect, it could not have gone better if we had written a script. We took a chance because we wanted a unique and fun wedding, and we got very lucky because we picked Weddings Abroad. Everything went so smoothly because of your team's flexibility and professionalism. Candice and Talita did such a great job with make up and hair. Andred performed a wonderful ceremony that was tailor-made for us. Table Mountain is a breathtaking location, and we have your phenomenal pictures to prove that it wasn't all a dream. The pictures make us very happy because they really bring back the wedding day, and our family and friends loved them. The hardest part is picking our favorites, they are all great! Thank you so much for our once-in-a-lifetime experience that was unforgettable and completely stress-free! (Rare for a wedding - or so we hear).

Gail and Keith - 16th February 2010 - Llandudno Beach 

Finding someone to arrange your wedding is never an easy choice to make especially when you have to do it all by email or so we thought, then we came across Sally and her team at 'Weddings Abroad'.

When Sally informed us that on the chosen date for our wedding the sun would set at precisely 1938hrs we knew we were in good hands. Well it was a year in advance so you have to be impressed.

With Sally's help we were able to find the perfect setting for our beach wedding and an amazing restaurant for dinner afterwards. We were really looked after in 'Pure' and the decor was really fitting for celebrating a beach wedding with all the drift wood and coral.....not to mention the first class food.

So pleased too that the happiness and the emotions keith and myself felt on the day were clearly shown in the photographs and therefore easily conveyed to family and friends back home.

Alas we cannot forget that amazing man Andred he was so warm and funny and just made our wedding unique and so very special.

Keith and I cannot thank you Sally and your amazing team enough for a perfect stress free time leading up to the day and the wedding day itself. We just want to come back and do it all again.

Thank you also to the make up artist Candice and co, the florist who did an excellent job and the drivers.

Hi, Sally

Cobus and I would like to thank you again for the great service you have provided.  Our wedding would not have been possible without you! We were really happy with everything.  The venue I think was perfect for us. We loved the food and the atmosphere of the place. The music was also good with the string quartet very professional and their performance well rehearsed and rounded we thought.

RE the DJ:  We loved the gentleman who ended up helping us out after DJ Benoit broke his arm.  Since we've been to Lara's wedding as well, we could compare somewhat and actually ended up liking our guy much better. He appeared very professional and obviously knew what he was doing.  We liked his music as well.  Just the mike that gave some trouble in the garden.  thank you for organising for him to be there with so little notice.

Garth also did a great job, everybody loved the flowers and I especially loved the set-up in the garden.   It would have been impossible for us to come anywhere near something like that on our own.

Helga I just loved, I think she did a good job with the make-up and her assistant did as good a job with my mom and bridesmaid.

The Alphen hotel was absolutely perfect!  Thank you so much for setting that up! The cake was delicious and also exactly what we wanted.

I'm not sure if I left anything out, but need to again thank you and your staff again for helping us have the perfect wedding.  Except for me being late because of forgetting the bouquet, we would not change anything!  It was good getting to know you and will be recommending you to all of our friends and family.  It was wonderful to get to know you and to be able to rely on you and not having to worry about a thing, knowing that you are in control.  Cobus's favourite story about the wedding is that whenever somebody asked him details of the wedding, he could just say:  "I don't know, ask Sally"  :-)

Thanks again for everything, you were fantastic, we had an absolute blast.
The DJ was a smash-hit, so I'm really glad you hired him; Wynand and I were so exhausted around 2 am, but people wouldn't leave, so Wynand had to go ask the DJ to stop the music so that they'd leave, but that didn't work either! We ended up leaving at around 2:30am. Overall, we had a fantastic wedding and you were a huge part of it, so thank you very much.

Where do we begin!

We found Sally from Weddings Abroad after deciding to travel from Ireland to Cape Town for our wedding, Sally is an amazing person that made our wedding stress free, she came in, faded into the background and captured the most amazing moments for us to look back on! She was flawless in her work etiquette and I couldn't recommend her more highly, very professional, easy to work with and when it came to the final draft of the pictures Keith and I could not be happier!

Our wedding day was beyond our expectations, Being a bride one always worries about the day, But let me tell you it was Sally who picked up on every detail even matching my nail varnish to the flowers, She recommended to us the most suitable people for each job, And she got it right every time, Our cake, flowers, minister, transport, hair & makeup were all perfect and made our day spectacular.

After the most romantic relaxed enjoyable day of our life¹s, the final icing on the cake was seeing the finished product the photos, Sally¹s outstanding effort and with attention to detail showed in each and every photograph.

We hope to renew our vows in 5 years time and without hesitation we will be contacting Weddings Abroad to organise it for us and Sally to capture those special momentS.

Hi Sally,

I hope you had a nice Christmas. Thank you again for everything you did to make our wedding day special. The Marine hotel was really beautiful and the staff there took great care of us—thank you for telling them it was our honeymoon! They sent us a bottle of champagne and put rose petals all over the room.

We got the DVD and had a chance to look at all the photos on our way to Buenos Aires. You really did a great job! It is going to be hard to narrow it down and decide what photos we want to print. Thanks again for everything. We really enjoyed working with you and truly appreciate all your efforts to make our wedding and honeymoon wonderful.

Just a quick note to express our thanks & gratitude in your invaluable help with our wedding. As a perfectionist (with what some may describe as a touch of OCD) I am not the easiest person to work with! But Sally took on the task with good humour & enviable professionalism.

I want to make a special mention of the tremendous effort Sally put in the week before the wedding when there was an impossible amount to do. Having arrived from London only a few days before the big day was very daunting when faced with a long list of MUST DO tasks! Sally was an absolute star in helping us that week – she proved that nothing is impossible!! (An engraved guest book with Polaroid’s & messages organised 2 days before the wedding – no problem!)

My wedding day was everything I dreamed of & I did not have to worry about one (or a hundred) details on the day because Sally was completely in control! This meant I could enjoy the day in it’s entirety!

If you are having doubts & think you need a wedding planner, stop right there & pick up the phone and call Sally! You won’t regret it!

Hi Sally,

More than a year before the date of marriage we contacted Sally. First thoughts were that it would be a bit early, but as the date 09/09/09 looked to be a very favourite date by more couples, so we contacted Sally on August 25 2008. And from that moment on we experienced the most passionate and friendly woman. More than 300 emails followed and all of them were answered with unbelievable patience and experience. We really felt everything was going to be fine and give us a great day. September 6 we did meet the lady who did all the work for us as and discussed some small final things.
Then on our big date every thing went perfect, the flowers, the cake, the pictures, even the weather was well organized.
A small set back as we were not allowed to enter the area at Cape Point which we actually wanted to get married was quickly solved with a great idea from Sally.
Wow, you are doing your work with love and passion. And what did you have a great team with you: Andred, Anine and you you really make a perfect team.

Sally, thank you once again for all the work done with all your patience and passion. We were really lucky to have you as our wedding planner.

Firstly, apologies for not being in touch before this.  It's been on my mind to email but i thought I'd wait for the photo's first and then since Lloyd arrived it's just been so hectic!!!
 
Anyway, we just wanted to say A BIG THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!  We really, really enjoyed our wedding day - it was absolutely perfect.  Everything was fabulous and went so smoothly.  
 
Your recommendation of Anine for hair and make-up was spot on.  She made everyone look lovely and was so calm!  Andred was absolutely fab as well - he made the service really personal, even though he'd only just met us.  He's just great! Thanks too to Cathy for making things run smoothly on the day and so discreetly as well. Even our drivers were lovely - very obliging and helpful!
 
Thomas and the band were just great, weren't they?  I smile everytime I think of them.  I hope you'll be able to use them again.
 
Finally, thanks x 1000 000 to you for co-ordinating everything and for the fantastic pictures.  We really love them and they really capture the day as it was.  Everyone here is so impressed with them!  It was so lovely for Lloyd and I to sit down and look at them together.......our big problem now is choosing what ones to have enlarged!
  
Anyway, I must go now.  Lloyd and I are off to pick up his wedding ring - it's been away being made bigger!!!

Dear Sally

Both Mark and I would like to send our heartfelt thanks for everything you did to help make our wedding a day to remember, even down to ordering the perfect weather! Thankfully the wind stayed away which meant both my veil and the gazebo stayed exactly where they were supposed to, and the amazing photos you took portray perfectly the wedding we spent over a year planning and looking forward to. Everyone who has seen them so far has commented on the vivid colours and beautiful, natural images that you managed to capture, and have been in awe at the sunset shots - such a beautiful location. We WILL be back!

If anyone has any doubts that it can't be possible to create a dream wedding by email from thousands of miles away, our day proved otherwise. The flowers were stunning, the beach at Llandudno a perfect venue for the ceremony, Andred was great fun, and the Luhlaza choir? Wow! We can't wait to see the DVD once it arrives so we can listen to them all over again!

When we first decided to get married in Cape Town, we did the usual searching of websites to get info etc. From our first contact with Weddings Abroad, the impression was of a very interested and professional company that was genuinely able to deal with all our queries and problems. Through all our correspondence via email, Sally acted with vitesse and reassurance to all our querky issues and concerns. Sorry it has taken some time to get back to with this but I haven't stopped since we got back and the kids have both been ill, they are fine now and Ryan is finally back to school.

We would like to thank you for all that you did to make our day special, we did not have to worry about anything at all. I still cant believe how easy it was to book through you and we were delighted that we got everything the way we wanted. The pictures you sent me look fantastic and we cannot wait to see the rest. Andred was excellent, we couldn't have asked for a better ceremony he made it so personal which was lovely. The meal at the Salt afterwards was nice, the service was very good and they were fantastic with the kids. We are missing South Africa so much and I can't wait to go back, hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks again and please say thank you to everyone else who was involved.

What can I say?! It was amazing and more than we had hoped for. Thank you so much for everything, the attention to detail and your thoughtfulness over everything was second to none. I didn't expect it to be so moving and when Caitlin played her flute with the harpist I was a wreck! So thank you for making that happen (please pass on our thanks again to Jane - does she produce any CD's of her music?) Everyone is asking how it was and I can say with all sincerity that it was a fairytale day - even the weather was wonderful! We were also very spoilt at both restaurants Salt and Pigalle. Everything ran so smoothly and I was so relaxed - especially after the spa treatments!

 Dearest Sal,

How can I begin…Sal I just want to thank you so much for putting up with all my strong views and ideas for our wedding. It has been the first time ever that I haven’t organized something on my own so having you being the organizer and the person offering all the good advice was something to get used to. You were an absolute star and I think I couldn’t have been better blessed than having you arrange this special day for us. Your expertise and experience certainly shone though and watching the DVD on Friday night just reinforced this. I thought the reception looked absolutely beautiful and the lighting and flowers looked incredibly stunning. The day couldn’t have been more perfect Sal.

The drinks and canapés area looked so smart and classy and the gazebo (which caused us so much stress the day before) looked beautiful and so well suited to the theme and feeling of the whole day

You couldn’t have chosen a better photographer and I will certainly thank Jonty for creating such a memorable keepsake for us. I can see Matt and I watching this DVD in years to come and with our kids when planning their weddings. The highlights bit to “Can you feel the love tonight “ (which by the way must have been your input as not sure how Jonty would have known about this song) was so touching and we both had tears in our eyes when watching this. Jonty captured such great emotions.

We have had so many compliments about the wedding Sal and quite a few people have mentioned that it was the happiest wedding they have ever been to. The video certainly shows this. It was overwhelming having all our friends and family celebrating with us!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world.

PATRICK AND JEANETTE HUGHES - FEBRUARY 2007  (Le Bac)

Hope this e mail finds you well. We got home 12.30 last night!!!

I was at the office already 07.00 this morning. 

What a small world. Graham from my office is friends with Simone, the photographer. There were actually so many people at the wedding who knew each other from somewhere. 

Thank you for all the work you did for us. I have already had requests from two of my friends this morning for your contact details. 

We left the party at 04.30 and went straight to the airport. Was quite an experience!!! 

 When we arrived in Mauritius we were absolutely exhausted, never the less, we had lunch and hit the beach for the afternoon. 

The resort was lovely. Jeanette bought many beautiful pearls and and and ...The facilities were very good and the staff most professional. 

We each went with a costume and one change of clothing. Total baggage 8.5kg!!! regardless, Jeanette managed to get that to 27 kg before we returned. 

Thank you for everything. 

Take care and we both look forward to that drink sometime.

Glad business is booming - you both certainly deserve it based on the fantastic work you did in organising such a perfect wedding.  Tracy and all the guys and gals at Stillness did an unbelievable job in making the wedding day and dinner exceed even our wildest dreams - Susan and I, and all our guests are still talking about it!

I have turned all the wedding photos plus those of the trip into a DVD with African musical soundtrack and it is wowing our friends - expect more holiday bookings to come your way eventually!

We saw 4 of the 5 at Lalibela, missing out on the Cheetah, but I got great photos of the lions, elephants and Buffalo in particular.   By the way - send all your guests to Lalibela Idwala lodge. 

Very small, luxurious and private - for 2 of the 3 nights we were the only 4 in the lodge and treated like royalty.  Cannot recommend it enough.

‘I would just like to say that Paul and I both had the most amazing time in South Africa.  It is definitely my favourite holiday so far, ever, and that is without taking the wedding into consideration at all.   I really found the people, places, atmosphere and hospitality to be out of this world.  We feel we barely scratched the surface of places to go and will definitely be contacting you to arrange our return trip.  Which if I get my way will certainly be much sooner rather then later.

The hotels that you recommended were stunning and we seemed to get extra special treatment as the honeymoon couple.  Tsala is my first stop closely followed by Hermanus and Plettenberg Bay except we will make sure we visit in season for the wildlife next time. You truly did make the holiday very very special.  And as you can tell from the photos the wedding was everything we could have wished for and more.’

Now we all know that weddings can be complicated, (flowers, holiday bookings, priests, photographers etc), let alone planning the best day of your life in a foreign country! My mother happened to see an advert or something on TV about Weddings Abroad organising, planning and managing wedding days in South Africa so we decided to give them a call. To simply say that they blew us away is an understatement as we had everything roughly planned by the time we left South Africa after our holiday.
