Plettenberg Park is an all-weather hotel, brilliant in
sunshine, with wrap around views and a private beach. In
winter this country is wild and spectacular. Plettenberg
Park has outstanding views from the rocky shores and
turbulent seas that offer an excellent platform from which
to view the Humpback Whales that visit this stretch of
coastline in winter as well as the schools of Dolphin that
frolic in the waves year round. Wide open spaces play an
important role at Plettenberg Park, not only in terms of the
panoramic views across the Indian Ocean and the sprawling
savannah behind, but also within the architecture of the
hotel itself. The park abounds with wildlife and birdlife
with Grysbok, Duiker, mongoose, Dassies (rock rabbit),
baboons, Bushbuck, Cape Clawless Otter as well as several
species of snake. Over 65 bird species of birdlife have been
'spotted' on the reserve including Loerie, Herons, Falcons,
Crowned Eagles, Spotted Eagle Owls, Giant Kingfishers,
Sunbirds, Shrikes, Cormorants, and of course seagulls.
Relax in the sun and dip in the cove beach situated below
the hotel. Alternatively spend the day around the hotel
swimming pool relaxing with your every whim catered for.
Boat trips can be arranged to view the seals, dolphins,
sharks, penguins, sea-birds and (in season) whales; Robberg
Nature Reserve is just 5-minutes away.
